Robinson, this map accompanied the celebrated work “Travels of Anacharsis the Younger in Greece”, a fictional yet scholarly exploration of Greek civilization that captivated Europe’s intellectual elite.

The map presents Athens, Piraeus, and the surrounding countryside, including such landmarks as the Academy of Plato, the Long Walls connecting the city to its port, and the hills and rivers that shaped ancient Attic life.
