Published in London under the auspices of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge in 1833, this finely engraved map depicts the southern provinces of Sweden, from Scania to Småland and beyond.
Drawn from Forsell’s 1826 surveys, it combines accuracy with understated artistry, provincial borders hand-colored and terrain rendered in delicate hachures.

Engraved by J. & C. Walker, two of Britain’s most respected mapmakers, this piece reflects the SDUK’s mission to make geographic knowledge accessible to the public, blending Enlightenment ideals with cartographic precision.
Restored and printed on archival paper, it captures Sweden’s southern landscapes in the early 19th century, where education, science, and art met upon the printed page.
